The talented Josh Roberts, is the proud designer of our Electric Galaxy case. We asked him a few questions so you can all get to know him a bit better. Here's what he had to say:
What age did you start this style of art?
I started painting this style of art at 28. I loved how bold colours and fluid style flowed on the canvas & gave an almost street art look.
Was there a defining moment when you thought ‘wow I think I might actually be good at this’?
Absolutely. It was maybe a year after I got into art again & I was committing so much time to it, getting excited over every piece that I realised this is something I need to pursue. Getting my first commission was definitely a big milestone for me.
If you could meet any artist dead or alive who would it be and why?
I have two artists - Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock. Both saw something abstract in the world that spoke to them, driving them to create a style that has never been done before. I'd love to delve into the thought process behind it.
What is the best thing about having an artistic talent?
Being able to visualise something and see it materialise into a piece of art. I love looking back once it's complete and saying 'wow I did that'.
What is the biggest struggle being an artist?
What to do next. Every painting is better than the last & trying to figure out the evolution that will make you & your art work better.
